Before starting her new professional career as founder partner of Del Pozo & De la Cuadra, Covadonga was a partner at Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira (the second ranked Spanish law firm in turnover), responsible of the practices of environment and energy law at the office of Madrid. Covadonga advises all environmental and energetic issues. She has a wide experience in all the areas of the environment and the natural resources, as in the main energy sectors: electricity (conventional and renewable), gas, oil, mining (energetic and non-energetic). She provides legal advice to national and international clients in different areas, including the development and implementation of big industrial activities (ie. Exploration and hydrocarbons production projects or the commissioning of industrial plants), M&A operations (purchasing and selling of industries, activities or assets with significant environmental impacts, due diligence processes), litigation processes (sanctions defense, environmental responsibility, etcetera) and in general, advising clients in regulatory compliance from a very proactive perspective (including the environmental corporate compliance processes). During the 15 years of her professional experience, she has advised national and international corporate groups, Ibex businesses, public agencies, and the major financial entities in Spain, among others.

Maria Soto holds a double Bachelor`s degree in Law and Business Management (2012) from Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid. She started her career at the law firm Sánchez Pintado & Núñez and afterwards at Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira where she worked since January 2013 as an associate at the Public law and regulatory markets department of its Madrid office. She joined DEL POZO & DE LA CUADRA in September 2015, continuing her specialization.

Jorge holds a degree in Law and in Business Administration and Management (2020) from the University of Oviedo and a master’s degree in Environmental Management (2021) from the University of Antonio de Nebrija. He began his career on the environmental law team of Andersen’s public and regulatory law department in Madrid. During this period, he collaborated with the team providing legal advice to national and international clients (among others, companies, associations, and foundations) in the areas of waste, packaging and circular economy, as well as in administrative procedure and other areas of public law. With the aim to focus in the field of environment, energy and natural resources, in June 2022 he joined the team of Del Pozo & De la Cuadra where he participates in all types of projects related to the sector and in the environmental-regulatory advice on the legal framework applicable in Spain and the European Union. Moreover, he intervenes in the defense of the rights and interests of private entities and public administrations in administrative proceedings, including sanctioning procedures and environmental impact assessments.
